KENYAN INNOVATORS LEAD SANKALP AFRICA AWARDS 2026

At the 13th Sankalp Africa Summit held February 25–26, 2026, at Nairobi's Sarit Expo Centre, Kenyan startups led the way by securing three out of five category wins in the Sankalp Africa Awards. Rio Fish Ltd claimed the AgriTech award for its sustainable aquaculture empowering women and youth, M-Taka Solutions won Circular Tech for its digital waste management platform connecting households and recyclers, and Malaica AG took HealthTech for its innovative maternal healthcare services improving pregnancy care access.

Continental Recognition and Broader Impact Other winners included Nigeria's Sosai Renewable Energies Ltd in ClimateTech and East Africa's Somo Africa Trust in FinTech, highlighting Africa's vibrant innovation in addressing social and environmental challenges. The event, attracting over 1,000 participants from 50+ countries and showcasing 350+ startups, underscores Kenya's rising leadership in impact-driven entrepreneurship amid growing investor interest in scalable solutions for the continent.
