Namibia’s central bank has won an international award for AI innovation as mobile data revenues reached N$934 million in Q4 2025, overtaking declining voice revenues. The shift highlights rapid digital adoption despite rural connectivity gaps.

The Bank of Namibia is also preparing to launch its first retail bond programme to widen access to government securities. The initiative targets low- and middle-income earners, signalling a broader push toward financial inclusion and modernised savings tools
